Why we LOVE this product!
Magna-Tiles are one of the best open-ended building toys around, and microMAGS shrink that experience into a tin that fits in a backpack. The tin doubles as a magnetic base, so kids can build in the car or at a restaurant table without pieces sliding everywhere.
The mix of squares and three kinds of triangles is perfect for early geometry: kids discover how shapes combine without being told.
Two things to weigh: 26 small pieces limit how big builds can get, and it's pricier per piece than classic sets. As a travel toy, it's one of our favorites.

The Magna-Tiles microMAGS Travel Set is 26 mini magnetic building tiles packed in a metal tin that doubles as a building base, made for car rides, flights and restaurants. microMAGS work with every other Magna-Tiles piece.
What's inside
- 26 microMAGS tiles: 12 squares, 6 equilateral triangles, 4 isosceles triangles and 4 right triangles
- A metal storage tin that works as a magnetic baseplate
How it works
Kids build on the tin's lid, then pack everything back inside. The small tiles can also add details to builds made with regular Magna-Tiles.
What kids learn
- Geometry and spatial reasoning: how triangles and squares combine into 3D shapes
- Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination: placing small tiles precisely
- Creativity: open-ended building wherever you go
Good to know before you buy
- Age: 3 and up.
- Materials: food-grade, non-toxic plastic free from BPA, phthalates and latex.
- Small tiles: microMAGS are smaller than classic tiles, which suits travel but means fewer big builds.

About
The Paper Store
The Paper Store began in 1964, when Bob Anderson opened a small newsstand in Maynard, Massachusetts. What started as a neighborhood business grew into a family-run specialty retailer, expanding its offerings over the years to include greeting cards, books, gifts, and other carefully selected merchandise.
Built around a commitment to community and a more personal shopping experience, The Paper Store developed into a destination for discovering thoughtful gifts and everyday treats. As the business grew, it expanded its range to include fashion, jewelry, accessories, home décor, children's products, and popular gifts from well-known brands.
Today, The Paper Store is part of TPS Group Holdings and operates a network of stores alongside its online shop. Its collection brings together established favorites and emerging brands, with products chosen to help customers celebrate milestones, express appreciation, and find something special for friends and family.
The company's philosophy is summed up in its mantra, “Give Better.” The idea is to make shopping about more than simply buying a product: it's about finding something that brings joy to someone else. From playful toys and cuddly plush animals to distinctive accessories and meaningful gifts, The Paper Store aims to make discovering and giving something special an enjoyable part of everyday life.
