• Yum Yum Box (most popular): 10 to 12 snacks, a 20-page booklet, and bonus recipes and activities. $31 month to month, $29 a box for 6 months or $27 a box for a year.
• Super Yum Box: 15 to 18 snacks, including 5 extra full-size snacks and a full-size specialty drink or food, plus extra recipes and activities. $47 month to month, $44 a box for 6 months or $41 a box for a year.
• Countries: pick your own itinerary or let Universal Yums choose; recent options include Scandinavia, Japan, the Baltics, Germany, the UK, Greece, Italy and South Korea.

How it works

Take the short taste quiz on the site, choose a size and plan, then pick a first destination or let Universal Yums decide. Each box arrives with the snacks and a booklet, so the family can taste, rate and learn about the country together. The Baltics box, for example, has 18 snacks from three countries in its largest size.

Good to know before you buy

• Allergies: boxes can't be customized. Universal Yums lists ingredients in the booklet, and some products are made in facilities that handle wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, soy, eggs, milk, fish and shellfish. Universal Yums says not to buy if anyone has a severe food allergy.
• Age: Universal Yums doesn't give an age; we've listed 6 and up because snacks include hard candies and small pieces.
