Why we LOVE this product!
Most LEGO Pokémon sets are display models for adults. This one is made for kids to play with, and the SMART Brick gives Pikachu lights and sounds that react as they move it around the treehouse.
It's screen-free during play, and the brick carries over to other SMART Play sets, so it isn't a one-off gadget.
Two things to weigh: the brick needs charging and gives about 45 minutes per charge, and setup goes through an app with an optional microphone feature that parents may want to leave switched off.

LEGO Pokémon SMART Play Training House with Pikachu (72164) is a 400-piece building set with a treehouse and a buildable Pikachu that contains a LEGO SMART Brick, which lights up and makes sounds when it comes near the set's SMART Tags.
What's inside
- 1 SMART Brick (built into Pikachu)
- 1 SMART Charger
- 4 SMART Tags
- A buildable Pikachu figure
- A brick-built treehouse, training dummy and bush

How it works
Charge the SMART Brick, build it into Pikachu, and move Pikachu around the treehouse. When Pikachu comes close to a SMART Tag, for example during training, the brick responds with lights and sounds. LEGO says a charge gives about 45 minutes of play, and the brick works with other SMART Play sets.

About
Lego
The LEGO Group began in 1932 in Billund, Denmark, when carpenter Ole Kirk Kristiansen started making wooden toys. The name LEGO comes from the Danish words *leg godt*, meaning “play well,” a fitting reflection of the company's enduring belief in the value of play. The modern LEGO brick, introduced in its familiar interlocking form in 1958, became the foundation of a building system that allows pieces to connect in countless ways.
Today, LEGO inspires builders around the world with products that combine creativity, imagination, and learning. Its sets range from simple builds for younger children to intricate models and challenging projects for experienced builders and adult fans. Whether recreating a favorite fictional world, designing a vehicle, constructing a landmark, or inventing an original creation, builders can explore ideas and develop skills through hands-on play.
Still family-owned, the LEGO Group continues to pursue its mission to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow, creating experiences that encourage curiosity, creative thinking, and discovery across generations.
