Why we LOVE this product!
This kit has a great payoff: kids build a game they actually want to play, and every rearrangement of the pegs becomes a mini experiment in angles and motion. It's a hands-on way to see physics without calling it physics.
The pixel-art sign adds a creative step, so the finished machine feels personal.
Two things to weigh: marbles mean it's not for toddlers, and it's a lighter build than KiwiCo's bigger kits. At under $25, it's a great-value starter project.

The KiwiCo Pinball Machine is a build-your-own tabletop pinball game where kids assemble a marble launcher, arrange pegs and flags as obstacles, and design a pixel-art sign.
What's inside
- Plastic game board set (13 pieces), foam feet and foam sheets
- Marble launcher pieces, rubber bands, brads and washers
- 3 marbles and 24 plastic pegs
- 10 paper flags, 2 paper backboards and a stackable crayon
- An explore! magazine and illustrated instructions
How it works
Kids build the board and launcher, then decide where the pegs and flags go. Rearranging the obstacles and changing the board's angle changes how the marble moves, so every game can be different.
What kids learn
- Motion and forces: how angle and launch strength change a marble's path
- Experimenting: testing a layout, changing one thing and trying again
- Geometric art: designing a pixel-style sign
- Fine motor skills: assembling with brads, washers and pegs

About
KiwiCo
KiwiCo was founded in 2011 by Sandra Oh Lin, an engineer, mother, and entrepreneur who wanted to make creative, hands-on learning easier for families. As a parent, Sandra appreciated projects that encouraged children to explore and invent, but found it difficult to consistently find ideas, research activities, and gather all the necessary materials. She created KiwiCo to make those enriching experiences more accessible.
The company began as Kiwi Crate, offering activity boxes designed to help children learn through making and experimenting. As the range expanded to serve more ages and interests, the business adopted the name KiwiCo in 2017 to reflect its broader collection of projects and educational experiences.
KiwiCo develops activities across science, technology, engineering, art, geography, and other subjects, with projects designed by a team of educators, designers, engineers, and makers. The company also gathers feedback from children to help ensure that its projects are engaging, age-appropriate, and fun to complete.
KiwiCo's mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators by helping children build creative confidence and problem-solving skills. Through hands-on discovery, it encourages kids to become active creators, experiment with ideas, and learn by doing.
