Why we LOVE this product!
This is one of the prettiest advent calendars we've seen, and it builds toward something kids can play with: a whole woodland tea party, set up piece by piece through December. Instead of 24 random trinkets, the countdown tells a story.
It invites imaginative play and gentle fine motor work as kids assemble and arrange the scene.
Two things to weigh: it's paper, so it won't survive rough play, and some assembly is needed. For a calm, creative countdown, it's a lovely choice.

The Meri Meri Owl's Party Paper Play Advent Calendar is a 24-day countdown where each numbered envelope adds a piece to a woodland tea party scene, from 3D paper animals to a table, chairs, crockery and cutlery.
What's inside
- A folded paper backdrop to set the scene
- 24 numbered envelopes in different sizes
- 3D paper animals, a table, chairs, crockery and cutlery
- Embellishments including velvet ribbon and pompoms
How it works
Open one envelope a day and add the piece to the tea party. By Christmas Eve the whole scene is set, and it becomes a small-world play set for the holidays and beyond. Simple self-assembly is required.
What kids learn

- Fine motor skills: assembling and arranging paper pieces
- Patience: a piece a day, with the full scene on Christmas Eve
Good to know before you buy
- Age: 3 and up.
- It's paper: pieces are delicate, so it suits gentle play and display more than rough handling.
- When to order: the countdown starts December 1, so order by mid-November to leave time for shipping.
- Shipping: Meri Meri offers free ground shipping on full-price orders over $50 in the continental US at the time of writing.
- Value: $32.
