Why we LOVE this product!
This is a gift for the grown-ups as much as the kids, and it solves a very real problem: the overflowing pile of drawings that nobody can bear to throw away. Artkive does the hard part, photographing and editing every piece, so you end up with a beautiful book rather than a folder of phone snaps.
For children, seeing their own artwork printed in a real book is a lovely confidence boost, and it becomes a record of how their creativity grew.
Two things to weigh: the price depends on how many pieces you send, so it can climb quickly, and you pay for every piece in the box. Sort the art first, and it's one of the most meaningful keepsakes you can give.
Description
SKU:
ARTKIVE-ART-BOOK
An Artkive Art Book is a custom printed book of your child's artwork: you mail the art to Artkive in their box, they professionally photograph and edit each piece, and you approve a proof before it's printed. It's a way to keep years of drawings and paintings without keeping every piece of paper.
What you get
- A printed book in 8 x 8 or 11 x 8.5 inches with premium matte pages, one piece of art per page
- A custom cover and title, plus optional captions with your child's name, age or grade and the date
- Professional photography and editing of every piece, and a digital proof to review
- Three months of free access to the digital images on Artkive's website and iOS app
How it works
Order an Artkive Box (a crush-proof box that holds 300 to 400 pieces of art, with a prepaid return label for the contiguous US). Fill it and send it back, Artkive photographs everything and invoices you based on the number of pieces and products, then designs your book for approval. Printing takes about 4 business days and shipping 2 to 5 business days after you approve the proof. You can choose to have your art returned at checkout.
What kids get out of it
- Pride in their work: seeing their art in a real book is a big confidence boost
- A record of growth: pages in date order show how their drawing changes over the years
- Less clutter, less guilt: you can let go of the originals and keep the memories
Good to know before you buy
- Cost has two parts: the Artkive Box kit is $39 (plus $20 if you want your art returned), and books start at $75 for 20 pieces, rising with the number of pieces (for example $160 for 50 and $265 for 100).
- Every piece counts: you're charged for each piece you send, even if you remove it later, and double-sided art counts as two.
- Deadlines: the box is due back within 6 months, or a $75 deposit is charged.
- No refunds once sent: orders can't be cancelled after your art has shipped, so edit before you pack the box.
- Timing for gifts: allow time for shipping both ways plus photography before printing.
Who it's for
Parents and grandparents drowning in kids' artwork, families who want a meaningful holiday or graduation gift, and anyone marking the end of preschool or elementary school.

About
ARTKIVE
Jedd Gold and Jeff Lipp are more than co-founders. They're also cousins. And they're fellow dads who share a passion for innovation, quality, and community.
Jedd and Jeff grew up on the East Coast and found themselves both living in Los Angeles pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. With complementary skill sets and a similar problem — what to do with all that art that was piling up inside their homes — they came together to find a solution.
